Microsoft released it's regular monthly updates this last Tuesday. Included in this latest round of updates were critical updates to Internet Explorer that should be installed as soon as possible (even if you don't use Internet Explorer as your default browser).
Adobe also made an announcement about some security issues in Acrobat and Adobe Reader that are currently being used to exploit computers. They will be pushing out updates for those issues soon.

Java and Flash updates
Two critical updates happened this week, both should be installed ASAP.
Oracle patched more than 50 security flaws in a recent release of Java 7 (update 13).
Adobe provided a patch for Flash to block a vulnerability that is currently being used to infect computers with malware.
